The Guilford Gazette brings truth and honesty in reporting to Guilford and the surrounding area with the idea that a community will make the best decisions when well informed. We endeavor to do no harm as we serve as a catalyst to strengthen the entire community comprised of neighborhoods, schools, businesses, government, and service organizations. In educating our readers with verifiable information in those areas of greatest concern, we envision a community dedicated to pursuits born of clarity and wisdom. Guilford Gazette Advertising Privacy Policy

Guilford Gazette uses Google AdSense,  an advertising service that provides opportunities for web publishers to sell advertising space to merchants.

The DoubleClick DART cookies are used by Google in the ads served on this website. When users visit the website and either view or click on a ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help better serve and manage ads on the Guilford Gazette website and across the web.

The Guilford Gazette also sells advertising space on an independent basis, with the use of an Ad Server maintained by a company called Ad Speed. Visitor information is obtained by Ad Speed for the purposes of providing statistical reports to advertisers. Names and personal information is not collected.

In an effort to design marketing plans and advertise directly to visitors of the Guilford Gazette website, we employ advertising retargeting techniques through a company called AdRoll. Like Google, cookies are used to identify visitor habits on GuilfordGazette.com. No personal information is obtained; however the cookies enable us to target visitors with specific ads based on their visits to GuilfordGazette.com. As an example, if John Smith visits the sports pages, then he might see Guilford Gazette ads on other websites regarding new sports-related features that the we plan to roll out.

The Guilford Gazette Privacy Policy is quite simple. In our transactions with persons or groups we do not share any personal or group information that we obtain without the express written permission of persons or entities subject to release of information. Information will not be intentionally shared with any private person, business entity, or government agency, unless required to do so by a written court order. If the Guilford Gazette is issued a court order to release information, we will endeavor to contact the subject of the Government’s request prior to releasing the information. This Privacy Policy applies to all communications using all means of sharing, including the internet, telephone, mail,
personal meetings, or any other mode of communication not listed here. This Privacy Policy in no way applies to the release of information obtained in the course of news coverage of events or interviews, including readily available information and investigative reporting. Subscription and marketing information (or any other information not gathered as a part of the news cycle will not be used by Guilford Gazette to initiate a news story; nor will information covered in this Privacy Policy be used as part of any news story.
