Baltimore, MD (April 2018) — After months of pledging and fundraising, hundreds of riders and volunteers hop on their bicycles this May for Moveable Feast’s largest fundraiser of the year, Ride for the Feast. With over 200 riders and a fundraising goal of $800,000, this epic fundraiser leaves the average gala in the dust.

Ride for the Feast will be held on Saturday, May 12th through Sunday, May 13th. Riders begin their journey on the Ocean City Boardwalk, and ride 100 miles until they reach the Talbot County Community Center in Easton. The second day is a bit lighter with 40 miles to the finish line at Moveable Feast’s headquarters in East Baltimore. For more information, visit www.rideforthefeast.org and follow @MFeastBaltimore on Facebook
or @mfeastbmore on Instagram.

At press time, the leading fundraising teams were Rebels with a Cause, Fierce Chicks Rock, and The Shirley
Temples. Thanks to the generosity of the event sponsors, 100% of the funds raised will directly benefit
Moveable Feast. Event sponsors include: Sysco, MECU, Kahn, Smith & Collins, Rubino & Co. — and local
businesses like Joe’s Bike Shop & Race Pace Bicycles.

Owner Joe Traill (“the Joe” of Joe’s Bike Shop) provides a helpful mnemonic for riders looking to do a long
haul, or bringing their bike out of storage for the season. “There are the ABCs: air, brake and chain. That’s
always a good place to start,” said Joe, “You’ll want to inflate tires, lube the chain and check for wear, check
spoke tension, check padware (brake pads).” For over 10 years, Joe’s Bike Shop has sponsored Ride for the Feast. “It’s fun for us. We look forward to helping out at it every year,” said Joe, “Sometimes there are ride day emergencies — people who haven’t done their ABCs! We give all the bikes a once over before we set off, and we’re there to help during the ride too.”
