Howard County police are investigating a single-vehicle collision in Ellicott City in which six people were transported to the hospital.

At approximately 7:46 p.m. Sunday, a 2003 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Route 40 at Brocks Way when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Jose Alisandro Beltran Segura, 30, of Catonsville, and a passenger, Margarita Fernanda Anez Rodriguez, 24, of Windsor Mill, were transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and are in stable condition. Four other occupants, Angelica Anez, 30, and three children, ages 13, 6, and 4 – all of Windsor Mill — were transported to Howard County General Hospital with minor injuries.

Preliminary, police believe wet road conditions contributed to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
