Ball Defeats Kittleman for County Executive

County Executive Elect Calvin Ball and current County Executive Allan Kittleman at one of the last debates before the General Election. The debate was held in Savage, Maryland.

The final vote tally is in at 11:00 pm and Calvin Ball (D), the Councilman from Howard County’s District 2 has overtaken incumbent Allan Kittleman (R) in the race for County Executive. With all precincts reporting, Ball has 52.3% of the vote with a total of 70,683 votes cast in his favor.

Kittleman with 47.6% has a vote count of 64,347.


ELECTION RESULTS FOR ALL RACES


Kittleman served one term as County Executive after serving as a State Senator, representing District 9 (Carroll & Howard Counties) from 2004 to 2014 when he resigned and ran for the top spot in the county narrowly beating Courtney Watson (D) who had served on the County Council with Ball.

Ball came to the County Council in 2006 and has served there ever since. As a part of his tenure there, he served as chairman. Ball’s council district includes the Villages of Long Reach and Oakland Mills in Columbia and portions of Elkridge, Ellicott City and Jessup. He has also served as Chairperson of the Zoning Board and Chairperson of the Board of License Commissioners.
