HCPD Daily Crime Bulletin, Thursday July 11, 2019

Robbery

Columbia, 21045: 8300 block of Tamar Drive, July 10 3:17 p.m.

A male victim reported that he arranged online to sell a laptop. When he arrived at agreed upon location above, a male suspect entered his vehicle, displayed what the victim believed to be a fake handgun, and stole the laptop before fleeing. The victim refused treatment at the scene but went to the hospital at a later time. The investigation is ongoing.

SUSPECT: black male, 17-19 years old wearing a white and blue t-shirt and jeans

Designated parking spaces, marked with yellow signs, are available at the Northern District Station at 3410 Court House Drive, Ellicott City; and Southern District Station at 11226 Scaggsville Road, Laurel; and Community Outreach at 10471 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. Individuals may also use the lobby of each station.

Columbia, 21045: 7200 block of Cradlerock Way, July 10 10:59 p.m.

An adult male victim reported that he exited his vehicle and was talking with three male subjects when one displayed a handgun and stole his cell phone. Another suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle, a 2008 silver Nissan Frontier with tags MD/9DW2723. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
SUSPECTS: three black males, one 5’11”, 170 pounds wearing dark shirt, the second 5’7” with a thin build wearing a gray shirt and khaki pants, and the third 5’7” with a thin build wearing a dark short sleeve shirt

Dayton, 21036: 15100 block of Sapling Ridge Drive, July 10 12:10-3 p.m.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the residence by breaking a rear sliding glass door and stole jewelry.

Robbery

Ellicott City, 21042: Harris Teeter, 11000 block of Resort Road, July 9 9:28 p.m.

Two store employees reported that three male suspects were stealing merchandise. When the employees confronted the suspects at the store exit, the suspects implied a gun and made threats before fleeing in a vehicle with some of the merchandise. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

Residential burglary

Laurel, 20723: 9100 block of Blues Alley, July 9 2:43 p.m.

Police responded for a report of two juveniles entering a vacant apartment without permission through an unlocked sliding glass window. Nothing was reported stolen.

Columbia, 21044: 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road, July 9 1-6:15 a.m.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the residence through unknown means and stole a television.

A juvenile male victim reported that he was approached by a male suspect with his face partially covered who displayed a knife and stole the victim’s cell phone before fleeing. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

SUSPECT: black male in his early 20s wearing a black hoodie and blue jogger pants

Columbia, 21045: 6000 block of Foreland Garth, July 7 11:04 p.m.

A male victim reported that he was approached by a male suspect who displayed a knife and stole the cash before fleeing. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing. No suspect description is available.

Columbia, 21045: Kaysi Beauty, 8900 block of McGaw Court, July 6 2:14 a.m.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the business by breaking the front glass door. Nothing was reported stolen.

Residential burglary

Ellicott City, 21043: 5500 block of Montgomery Road, July 5 4:27 p.m.

Police responded for a report of a suspect attempting to enter a vehicle and arrested him. They then learned he had entered a residence earlier without permission and fled when confronted. Nothing was reported stolen. Charges against the suspect are pending.

Jessup, 20794: 8300 block of Barkwood Court, July 6 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the residence by forcing open the door and stole cash.

Columbia, 21044: Running Brook Neighborhood Center, July 2-3 overnight

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the facility through a rear door and stole electronics and a cooler. No signs of forced entry were observed.

Laurel, 20723: Weis Markets, 9200 block of Washington Boulevard, July 4 1:46 a.m.

Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the business by breaking the glass doors and stole prescription medication.

Jessup, 20794: Crazy Ray’s Auto Parts, 8100 block of Washington Boulevard, July 4 10:06 p.m.

Police responded for a report of two suspects who stole car parts and fled in a vehicle. Police located the vehicle nearby and arrested both suspects.

ARRESTED: Brandon Paul, 26, of Camley Way in Burtonsville, and Kwan Jones, 27, of Rosemary Hills Drive in Silver Spring, charged with burglary and theft

Columbia, 21044: 5300 block of Brook Way, July 3 11:05 a.m.

An apartment complex employee reported that two juvenile suspects were in a vacant apartment without permission and that they fled when observed. The suspects gained entry to the apartment by forcing open a bedroom window. Nothing was reported stolen.
