Pedestrian Killed on Washington Boulevard; Driver Leaves Scene

UPDATE: Yesterday Howard County Police identified the pedestrian killed in the hit and run collision on Washington Boulevard as Kevin Underdown, 65, of Columbia. This is an update to the original article that continues below.

Howard County Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision in Jessup on March 7 in which a pedestrian was struck and killed.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., a vehicle, believed to be a white or silver Ford F-150 Raptor, was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard just south of Route 175 when it struck an adult male pedestrian crossing Washington Boulevard. The vehicle then continued north on Washington Boulevard and east on Route 175. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminarily, police do not believe that he was in a crosswalk.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision. Anyone with information on the striking vehicle or who may have witnessed the collision should contact PFC Holocker at 410-313-4752.
